Detailed Solution

During the election campaign, the officer in charge has to ensure that every candidate and party follow the Model Code of Conduct. The Model Code of Conduct comprises rules and guidelines prohibiting political parties from doing certain things while campaigning in an election. For example, the usage of places of worship for campaigning purposes is completely banned to prevent provoking religious sentiments. In addition, the ruling party cannot use the government vehicles, infrastructure or officers to carry out their campaign. Also, the ministers and the government can't make announcements of new policies and projects once the elections are announced.
