Detailed Solution

During the late 1960s, a revolution named the "Green Revolution" took place in India. It encouraged Indian farmers to use high-yielding varieties of seeds and introduced them to modern agriculture techniques. HYV sources (a high-yielding variety of sources) were promoted due to their unique benefits, as they have the potential to produce ten times more harvest than standard seeds. They were coupled with different modern agriculture technologies like multipurpose agriculture tools, irrigation facilities, chemical fertilisers, and pesticides, which led to enormous growth in the production of food grains in the country. This paved the way for economic development for Indian farmers.
