During the Swadeshi movement in Bengal, a Tricolour flag was designed with eight lotuses representing British provinces. This flag was designed by Pingali Venkayya in which printing included three colours green, yellow and red colours also consisted of eight lotus also had a crescent moon; the eight lotus represents eight British provinces in India, and the crescent moon represents both the Hindu and the Muslims. This flag was put on British provinces in India, which shows the unity and victory of the Britishers over India. Pingali Venkayya used to design a flag, and he also designed the Indian national flag after Independence which was adopted on 22 July 1947.
