During World War I, the Ottoman Empire was part of the Central Powers. The first World War broke out in the year 1914 and was fought between the Central Powers and the Allied powers. The Central powers included Germany, Austria-Hungary empire, and turkey. The Ottoman Empire was based in Turkey and hence was a part of the Central powers in the First World War. The Allied Powers included England, France, Russia, and later, the United States of America. The Central powers saw defeat in the First World War and this affected the power of the Ottoman emperor and had impact on the Muslim world Khalifa.
