Detailed Solution

Each village or town is divided into several wards that are like constituencies.
Just like in the Lok Sabha elections, there are numerous constituencies. At the village or town level, we have 'wards' like constituencies. Each ward selects one member of the village panchayat or the municipal committee. Sometimes these constituencies are called seats, as each constituency depicts one seat in the assemblage. Similarly, each state has split into numerous assembly constituencies. For example, if a party at the state level won 10 seats, then we say that the party's nominees have succeeded in 10 constituencies in the state and that the party has 10 MLAs in the state assemblage. The exact logic involves in the case of panchayat or municipal elections.
