Total distance from point A to point C

= 300 m + 100 m

Total distance from point A to point C

= 400 m

Time taken from point A to point C

= 2 \min 30 s + 1 \min

= 2 \times 60 s + 30 s

= 120 s + 30 s + 60 s

= 210 s

Now using the speed formula,

Average speed = \frac{total distance}{time taken}

Average speed = \frac{400 m}{210 s}

Average speed = 1.90 m / s

Average velocity = \frac{displacement}{time taken}

= 300 m – 100 m

= 200 m
