Detailed Solution

Election Commissions give a special election symbol to recognized political parties.
The Constitution of India established the Election Commission of India to regulate elections in the country. A party must register with the Election Commission of India to get legal recognition. Currently, more than 750 parties are registered with the Election Commission of India. It treats all the parties equally; however, it gives privileges and facilities to big and established political parties, like INC, BJP, etc. Moreover, it gives such parties a unique symbol used only by the official candidates of that party. The parties which get such special facilities are recognized by the Election Commission of India and are known as recognized parties.
