Detailed Solution

The thermal power generated from coal is referred to as electricity. Electricity is produced by thermal power plants using non-renewable fossil fuels. In India, there are more than 310 thermal power plants. Coal is burned in a boiler to transform water into a stream in a thermal power station. This stream enters a turbine and causes the shaft to rotate. Then, a generator that produces power as the shaft rotates is attached to this shaft. It is the process by which coal is transformed into electricity.
