If there were no plants on earth Animals would not be able to survive in the absence of plants, the amount of carbon dioxide in the air would increase and the amount of oxygen in the air would decrease.
Gases present in the air are mainly oxygen (20.9%) and nitrogen (78.9%). The rest, 0.2%, includes gases such as argon, carbon dioxide, and a small number of other gases. Through the process of photosynthesis, plants take in carbon dioxide and exhale oxygen. Without plants, the amount of carbon dioxide will rise, and that of oxygen will fall. This would result in the death of animals, as they depend on oxygen for respiration.
