Detailed Solution

Vestigial organs are organs or parts of human, animal and plant bodies that have not any clear function and are considered to residual parts from their respective ancestors. Vestigial organs are proof that all living organisms evolved over time.

The vestigial organs in humans are:

  • Vermiform appendix: It is present at the junction of the large and small intestines,  but it serves no purpose whatsoever.
  • Coccyx (tailbone): It is situated at the end of the spinal cord. This serves no purpose in humans.
  • Wisdom teeth: It is third and final set of morals present in the very back of mouth. It has no longer use because our diet has evolved.
