  • HIV infects TH cells, macrophages and dendritic cells.
  • The ss RNA of HIV is converted into viral DNA by reverse transcriptase. The viral DNA is introduced into host cell DNA by integrase enzyme.
  • Then viral DNA transcribes RNA and RNA is translated into viral proteins.
  • Various viral particles are assembled and HIV are bud off from the host cell and TH cells are
    destroyed.
  • The progressive decrease in the number of TH cells leads to AIDS (Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome).
