Let x=0.2555....   …(i)
Multiplying on both sides of q. (i) by 10, we get,
10x=2.555...   …(ii)
Multiplying on both sides of eq. (ii) by 10, we get,
100x=25.55...   …(iii)
Subtracting eq. (ii) from eq. (iii), we get
100x−10x= 25.55... − 2.555...   90x=23   Therefore, x= 23 90
