Express 159 into general form of an odd number

 2𝑛 − 1 = 2(159) − 1 = 318 − 1 = 317
  2𝑛 + 1 = 2(159) + 1 = 318 + 1 = 319
  2𝑛 − 1 = 2(80) − 1 = 160 − 1 = 159
  2𝑛 + 1 = 2(80) + 1 = 160 + 1 = 161

∴ 159 = 2(79) + 1
Hence it is in the form of 2𝑛 + 1 , when 𝑛 = 79
General form an odd number =2𝑛 − 1 , when 𝑛 = 80
