Detailed Solution

F.H. Buchanan, a traveller, describes the life of the pastoral community of the Gollas of Mysore.
F.H. Buchanan recounts the life of "The Gollas of Mysore," a projected community. The Gollas were a pastoral community that spoke Telugu. They (Gollas) lived in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu. The ratio of Mysore Gollas constitutes around 13.4% of the entire population in Andhra Pradesh state. They are considered a lower caste. Gollas are traditionally cowherds, but they used to herd sheep and goats, or all sheep and goats. Many names are known in different locations, such as Gulla, Gavali, Dhangar (in Maharashtra), and Gullar (in the Karnataka region). There are both Gollas and Gawalis. Yadavs are another name for Gollas.
