February Revolution of 1917 marked the fall of Tsar Nicholas II. On 25 February 1917, the Government dismissed the Duma, which resulted in strikes and demonstrations throughout the country. People came out on the streets raising slogans demanding proper wages, better hours, better conditions and democracy. The Government tried to control the situation but failed. A delegation was sent to the Tsar, and soon he abdicated. Soviet and Duma leaders formed the provisional Government to run the Government. It brought an end to the monarchy in Russia.
