Detailed Solution

Concept: The transportation of the blood out of the right ventricle is mostly made possible via the fetal passage.
The pulmonary arterial trunk and the proximal descending aorta are connected by a blood artery known as the ductus arteriosus or ductus botalli that is present within the growing fetus.
The ductus arteriosus often closes within the first two or three days after delivery since it is no longer required. The ductus arteriosus is termed as a blood vessel that allows the blood to go around the baby's lungs even before the birth. Soon after the infant is born and the lungs fill with the  air, then this ductus arteriosus is no longer needed.
Hence, option 3 is the correct answer.
