Detailed Solution

Ajmer and Delhi were under the control of Chahamanas. The Chauhan Dynasty, also known as the Chahamanas, ruled over the two major cities of Delhi and Ajmer in the 12th century. Because these cities were strategically located, the Chahamanas attempted to expand their control to the west and east. Still, they were defeated by the Chalukyas of Gujarat and the Gahadavalas of western Uttar Pradesh. The most well-known Chahamana ruler was Prithviraj III (1168–1192). He defeated the Afghan ruler, Sultan Muhammad Ghori, in 1191 but lost to him the following year, in 1192. The Chahamanas' main territory was established in modern-day Rajasthan. It was known as Sapadalaksha or Jangala-desh.
