Detailed Solution

Gujarat is the largest producer of groundnut in India.
Groundnut, mustard, coconut, sesamum (til), soybean, castor seeds, cotton seeds, linseed, and sunflower are the most common oil seeds produced in India. Various oil seeds are planted, accounting for around 12% of the country's total cropped area. In 2008, India was the world's second-largest producer of groundnuts, after only China. Groundnut is a Kharif crop that accounts for over half of the country's principal oilseed production. In 2011-12, Gujarat was the greatest producer of groundnuts, followed by Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
