Detailed Solution

Bajra grows well on sandy soils and shallow black soils. Bajra is also called ‘Pearl Millet’ in English. It is most widely grown in Africa and the South-East Asian subcontinent. Pearl, just like other millets, is highly resistant to droughts and other extreme climate conditions. It grows well on soils that are loamy and thick in texture and has a low amount of pH. Nowadays, scientific research has shown great development in the growth and sustenance of this millet. It has been used to tackle the malnutrition challenges in continents like Africa and other subcontinents which are low on nutrition.
