The dry deciduous forests are found in areas having rainfall between 70 and 100 cm. Tropical deciduous forests develop with a dry season followed by heavy rain. These forest formations are dense and green during the rainy summers, and winters are dry. When the trees shed their leaves, they turn into a desolate wasteland. These forests are found in the plain region of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh and the more wet areas of the Peninsular plateau. Teak, sal, peepal, and neem are all grown in open spaces.
