Now, ΔABC   is isosceles triangle, therefore, ∠ABC=∠ACB   
Sum of angles is 180, so
∠ABC+∠ACB +∠BAC= 180 ∘ Given:∠ABC=∠ACB 2∠ABC+ 40 ∘ = 180 ∘ 2∠ABC=140∘  ∠ABC=70∘  
∠ACD   is an exterior angle
∠ACD=∠BAC+∠ABC  
On substitution:
x= 40 ∘ + 70 ∘ ∴x= 110 ∘
