Detailed Solution

Given: x + y = 3   ....(1)

3x − 2y = 4    ....(2)

Multiplying equation (1) by 2, we get:

⇒ 2x + 2y = 6    .....(3)

Adding equations (2) and (3), we get:

⇒ 5x = 10

⇒ x = 2

On substituting x = 2 in equation (1),  we get:

⇒ 2 + y = 3

⇒ y = 1

Thus, x = 2 and y = 1

Therefore, option A is the correct answer.
