We know that any angle made by the diameter QR in the semicircle is 90∘
Hence  ∠RPQ=90∘
In the right angled ΔRPQ
RQ2=PQ2+PR2 (By Pythagoras Theorem)
=242+72
=576+49
=625
      RQ=625

We know that RQ is the diameter of circle so the radius of circle is
OQ=RQ2=252cmThe area of right angled ΔRPQ:
=12×base×height
=12×RP×PQ
=12×7×24
=7×12   =84cm2Now, The area of semicircle:
=πr22
=227×252×252×12
=11×25×2528
=687528cm2
The area of shaded region:
= Area of semicircle -Area of right angled
= 687528-84
=6875-235228
=452328
=161.54cm2
Hence the area of the shaded region is  161.54 cm2.
