Detailed Solution

Assume that C is a circle with a diameter of d. As a result, the circumference of circle C is d. Assume C1 and C2 are two circles with diameters d1=36 and d2=20, respectively. As a result, the circumference of circle C1 is d1=36 and that of circle C2 is d2=20. Now we will apply the given condition that the circumference of circle C equals the sum of the circumferences of circles C1 and C2 with diameters of 36 m and 20 m, respectively. Therefore, we can write πs=πd1+πd2
Cancelling π from both sides, we get
d=d1+d2
d=36+20 d=56  Hence, the diameter of the required circle is 56m.
