Given points,
−6,7 , −1,−5   We know that,
The distance between any two points in a Cartesian plane M a,b ,N c,d   is given by MN= (c−a) 2 + (d−b) 2  .
So, the distance between the two points,
Distance= (−1−(−6)) 2 + (−5−7) 2 ⇒Distance= (5) 2 + (−12) 2 ⇒Distance= 25+144 ⇒Distance= 169 ⇒Distance=13 units  
Therefore, the distance between two points is 13 units.
