Duplicate of a ratio

(p^{2} : q^{2})

Now, ratio compounded of

(x : y) (p : q)

duplicate is,

(x \times p^{2}) : (y \times q^{2})

Thus, duplicate of the ratio given in (a)

(9 b^{2} : ab)

= (9 {b)}^{2} : {(ab)}^{2}

= (81 b^{4} : a^{2} b^{2})

Now, compound of =

(2 a : 3 b)

and

(81 b^{4} : a^{2} b^{2})

= (2 a \times 81 b^{4}) : (3 b \times a^{2} b^{2}) = 54 b : a

Sub duplicate of ratio

(64 : 9),

= (\sqrt{64} : \sqrt{9})

= (8 : 3)

Now, compound of (27:56) and

(8 : 3)

= (27 \times 8) : (56 \times 3)

= 9 : 7

Duplicate of ratio

(\frac{2 a}{b} : \frac{\sqrt{c} a^{2}}{b^{2}})

= (\frac{4 a^{2}}{b^{2}} : \frac{c a^{4}}{b^{4}})

The compound of

(3 ax : 2 by)

and

(\frac{4 a^{2}}{b^{2}} : \frac{c a^{4}}{b^{4}})

= (3 ax \times \frac{4 a^{2}}{b^{2}}) : (2 by \times \frac{c a^{4}}{b^{4}})

= (12 x \times \frac{a^{3}}{b^{2}}) : (2 y \times \frac{c a^{4}}{b^{3}})

= 6 x : \frac{yac}{b}

= 6 bx : acy
