The given AP is -37, -33, -29, .........to 12 terms.
We have to find the sum of the terms.
From the given,
a=−37,
d=−33− −37
⇒d=4 ,
and n=12
We know that sum of n-terms in AP is,
S n = n 2 [2a+(n−1)d]
On putting the given values in the above formula we get,
S 14 = 12 2 [2(−37)+(12−1)(4)]
=6[−74+44] =6(−30) =−180
The sum of the series is -180.
