It is given that 4 x 2 −kx+2=0  is a quadratic equation.
We know, Discriminant = b2-4ac.
Comparing the values of the given equation with standard quadratic equation, ax2+bx+c=0 we get the values of a, b, c as a=4,b=-k,and c=2.
Substituting the values in the discriminant formula, b2-4ac,
= (−k) 2 −4(2)(4) = k 2 −32 ∴Δ= k 2 −32  
The correct answer is k2-32.
Hence, the correct option is 3.
