It is given that 4x2-kx+2=0 is a quadratic equation.
One has to write the values of the coefficients of x and x² and c to find out the value of the discriminant.
Discriminant = b2-4ac.
Comparing the values of the given equation with standard quadratic equation, ax2+bx+c=0 we get the values of a, b, c as a=4,b=-k,and c=2.
Substituting the values in the discriminant formula, b2-4ac,
=(k)2-4(2)(4)  =k2-32  ∴Δ=k2-32
Hence, the correct option is 3.
