Given that 2x1   is a factor of the given polynomial p(x)= x 3 +2 x 2 +3x+m.  
We know by Factor theorem that if xk   is a factor of the given polynomial p(x)  , then p(k)=0   and if it is not a factor then p k =Remainder.  
Equate 2x1 =0.  
x= 1 2  
Here, p 1 2 =0.   Question Image 1 8 +2× 1 4 + 3 2 +m=0 1+4+12+8m 8 =0  
8m+17=0 8m=17 m= 17 8  
Therefore the value of m= 17 8 .   Therefore, option (4) is the correct answer.
