Detailed Solution

We know, the centroid of a triangle with vertices (x1, y1), (x2, y2) and (x3, y3) = x1 + x2 + x33 , y1 + y2 + y33

Given vertices of the triangle = (2, 2), (4, 5), and (x, 8)

Given centroid = (0, 5)

Thus,

(2+4+x3,2+5+83)=(0, 5)

Comparing the x coordinates, we get:

 2+4+x3=0

 6+x3=0

 x = -6
