Then, by the mid-point theorem,
U is the midpoint of QS
and VU = 12PS  —————— (1)
Also, in ΔQRS, T and U are the midpoints of SR and SQ and UT || QR, 

Then, by the mid-point theorem,
UT = 12 QR  —————— (2)
On adding equations (1) and (2),

VU + UT = 12 PS + 12 QR
⇒ VT = 12(PS + QR)

 (PS+QR)VT= 2
