Detailed Solution

The first capital of Magadha was Rajgir.
One of the sixteen Mahajanapadas, or "Great Kingdoms," of ancient India, Magadha was an ancient Indian monarchy situated in the southern part of Bihar. The Maurya Empire and the Gupta Empire, two of India's most prominent dynasties, were founded in Magadha, which was also crucial in the development of Jainism and Buddhism. This place was historically referred to as Girivraja. The Bihar district of Nalanda is home to the ancient city of Rajgriha. It served as Magadha's initial capital. An ancient city called Patliputra is close to present-day Patna. Udayin, the monarch of Magadha, founded it. However, this wasn't Magadha's original capital.
