Detailed Solution

Five resistance R1,R2, R3,R4 and R5 connected in a circuit are 10 ohms, 40 ohms, 30  ohms, 20 ohms and 60 ohms in parallel having 12 voltspotential difference. 2.7 A will be the total current flowing in the circuit.
Given that, Potential Difference, = 12 volts
Resistance in Parallel, 1R = 1R1+1R2 + 1R3+1R4+1R5
Now, Resistance,1R = 110+140 +130+120 +160
                                 = 940
Now, we can write R = 409
                                  = 4.4 Ω
We know that According to Ohm’s law
= I R
12 = I × 4.4
= 2.7 A
Hence, the total current flowing in the circuit is 2.7 amperes.
