Hence, the median will be the mean of 35th and 36th day. Both of which lie in the interval 20-30.
The median of grouped data is given by:
Median = L+(n2-cfbfm)×w where:
L is the lower class boundary of the group = 20
n is the total number of data = 70
cfbis the cumulative frequency of the groups before the median group = 32
fmis the frequency of the median group = 17
w is the group width = 10
Hence,
Median = 20+(702-3217)×10 Median = 20+(317)×10 Median = 20+1.76 Median = 21.76 Thus, the median of the given data is 21.76.
