F1 will decrease and F2 will increase. So f1 may or may not be greater than f2.

If m and m1 be the masses of the block and the liquid respectively and σ and ρ be the density of the block and the liquid ,

then F1=mg and F2 =m1g . Also f1=mg(1-ρσ) and f2=m1g(1+ρσ).

 

 

 

Hence , f1+f2=F1+F2
