France became a republic and ended the monarchy on 21st September 1792. The Jacobins organised an uprising of many Parisians during the summer of 1792 who were enraged by the food crisis and eventually attacked the king on the morning of 10th August 1792. And on 21st September, France declared a republic. The French monarchy ended when Louis XVI was publicly executed on 21st January 1793 after being found guilty of corruption and given the death penalty.
