Detailed Solution

Frédéric Sorrieu was a French artist whose art was prominent when the movement of French nationalism started. His collection of four paintings reflected a vision of a world full of democratic and socialist republics. Frédéric Sorrieu was well known in Europe for his works documenting the liberal and nationalist revolutions. In 1848, he arranged a series of four paintings in which he portrayed men, countries, and allegories. Within these paintings, he visualised his dream of a democratic world. The titles of his four paintings were ‘La République Universelle Démocratique et Sociale’.
