Detailed Solution

From the 1860s, a few Bengali women like Kailashbashini Debi wrote books highlighting the experience of women. As a result, women's lives and sentiments began to be written in unusually vivid and passionate ways. Women's reading grew dramatically in middle-class households as a result. Since social reforms and novels had already piqued the public's curiosity about women's lives and emotions, there was a keen interest in what women would have to say about their own experiences. From the 1860s, a few Bengali women, such as Kailashbashini Debi, produced works exposing women's hardships, such as how women were imprisoned at home, kept in ignorance, forced to do arduous domestic labour, and treated cruelly by the very people they served.
