Thermoplastic is a polymer which can lose its shape on heating and regain it after cooling. They have reversible chemical linkages. It can be recycled into new products. Thermoplastic polymers do not have any cross-linking, as a result they are soft, weak and easily reprocessed. In contrast to this, thermosetting polymers have cross-linking between the monomer units which make them hard, brittle and and can’t be reshaped.
