From which countries has the Indian Constitution borrowed its key features

The Indian Constitution blends ideas from multiple democracies. We adopted the parliamentary form of government, rule of law, cabinet system, single citizenship, bicameralism and writs from the UK; Fundamental Rights, judicial review, independence of the judiciary, impeachment of the President and the Preamble’s “We the people” spirit from the USA; Directive Principles of State Policy (DPSP) and nomination to the Rajya Sabha from Ireland; a federation with a strong Centre, residuary powers with the Union and appointment of Governors from Canada; Concurrent List, freedom of trade/commerce/intercourse, joint sitting of Houses from Australia; emergency provisions (suspension of rights) from Germany (Weimar); Fundamental Duties (added in 1976) from the USSR; “procedure established by law” from Japan; liberty, equality, fraternity (Preamble ideals) and the Republic idea from France; and several administrative details (e.g., federal scheme, PSCs, office of Governor) from the Government of India Act, 1935.
