Detailed Solution

Buddhist missionaries of China introduced hand printing technology in Japan.
Around 768–770 AD, Chinese Buddhist missionaries brought the hand-printing technique to Japan. The Buddhist Diamond Sutra, which has six sheets of text and woodcut pictures, is the earliest Japanese book published in 868 AD. Poetry and prose were regularly published in medieval Japan, and many inexpensive books could be found. Printing of visual content sparked innovative publishing techniques. Hand-printed literature was abundant in both libraries and retailers.
