Concept: The gonadotropin hormones are LH and FSH. Because they activate the gonads—the testicles in men and the ovaries in women—they are known as gonadotropin hormones.
Luteinizing hormone: A heterodimeric glycoprotein is luteinizing hormones. The anterior pituitary gonadotropic cells produce luteinizing hormone (an endocrine gland). Interstitial cell stimulating hormone is another name for luteinizing hormone in men (ICSH). It encourages the production of testosterone, or male hormones, by Leydig cells. The development of the corpus luteum and ovulation in females are initiated by an increase in luteinizing hormone.
Follicle stimulating hormone: A glycoprotein polypeptide hormone, follicle stimulating hormones are responsible for stimulating follicle development. The anterior pituitary gland's gonadotropic cells are responsible for producing this hormone. The development of the pubertal stage depends on this hormone. This hormone is also responsible for how men's testicles and women's ovaries operate. FSH acts on the Sertoli cells in the testes of males to make sperm (spermatogenesis). This hormone encourages the development of ovarian follicles in females prior to ovulation.
