Gaddis earn their livelihood by selling ghee and milk.
The Gaddi shepherds are mainly found in the Himachal Pradesh state near the Dhauladhar range, Chamba, and nearby districts and valleys. They are mainly cattle, sheep, and goats. They move during the summer and winter seasons. The Gaddi lived in the low hills of Shivalik during the winter, as high mountains were covered with snow. They let their cattle graze in the scrub forest. Gaddis earn their livelihood by selling Milk products like Ghee, buttermilk, butter, and other milk products.
