Detailed Solution

Gandhi agreed to participate in the Second Round Table Conference in London under the Gandhi-Irwin Pact.
The Gandhi-Irwin Pact was a political agreement signed on March 5, 1931, between Mahatma Gandhi and the then-Viceroy of India, Lord Irwin. According to the Pact, the Indian National Congress called off the Civil Disobedience Movement. All political prisoners who were not convicted of criminal mischief were released. Coastal villages were granted the right to produce salt for personal use. The Indian National Congress agreed to attend the Round Table Conference.
