The Rowlatt Act was passed in 1919 which was against the Habeas Corpus and this law cancelled the right of Habeas Corpus of a citizen. Gandhiji started a non violence movement against this act by conducting hartals , strikes and demonstrations. After the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre (13th April, 1919) , Gandhiji called off the Rowlatt Satyagraha.
