Detailed Solution

Gandhiji and his followers marched from sabarmati to Dandi.
In 1930, Gandhiji started the Dandi March to protest the Salt Law. From Sabarmati to the seaside town of Dandi, Gandhiji and his supporters marched for more than 240 kilometres. There, they disobeyed the law by collecting natural salt from the coastline and boiling sea water to make salt. Gandhi chose salt because it was used in every Indian household, but it was illegal to make salt for personal use. A large number of peasants, tribals, and women took part. The government attempted to crush the movement by taking violent action against peaceful satyagrahis. Thousands of people were imprisoned.
