Detailed Solution

The Ganga-Brahmaputra basin is the largest river basin.
Here, the delta is formed in the confluence of the Ganges and the Brahmaputra, the two major rivers throughout India. It is known as the Bengal delta in India since most of it is in the state of West Bengal. Sunderbans is the popular name given to the delta, home to the tidal mangroves. The Ganges, Brahmaputra, and their tributaries make up this delta, most of which lies in Bangladesh. In India, the delta covers West Bengal with an area of about 105641 square kilometres. It is the most densely populated region in India, owing to its abundant water reserves and fertile soil.
