GEAC stands for Genetic Engineering Approval Committee.

Manipulation of living organisms by humans needs to be evaluated, monitored and regulated
as GMOs can have unpredictable results when introduced into the ecosystem.
GEAC (Genetic Engineering Approval Committee), is an organisation set up by the Indian Government to make decisions regarding the validity of GM research and the safety of introducing GM-organisms for public services.
