Detailed Solution

General Dyer ordered to fire on people who were gathered at Jallianwala Bagh.
General Dyer ordered the indiscriminate firing on the people who were present at Jallianwala Bagh. General Dyer did so because he thought this big, massive crowd had gathered to protest against the Rowlatt Act. At that time, when the Rowlatt Act was introduced, General Dyer imposed a martial law act. According to the martial law act, no more than two people can gather at a place. So, following martial law and with a tendency to resist the crowd, Dyer ordered the firing of thousands of people. Hence, hundreds of people were killed in this fire, including women and children.
